Dear Brother Knight’s,

Thanks to Brother Ed Pudlo for all the work on our new website.  Please take a look and provide your feedback to our Webmaster at www.kofcsiena.org.  Beginning in July we will no longer be printing and distributing newsletters on a monthly basis.  We intend to send out a notice prior to implementing this change.  The notice will allow you to reply to the council via first class mail if you desire to continue to receive the paper version of the newsletter.  This change will result in our ability to speed

communications to our members.  It will also allow us to disseminate information regarding council events in a more cost effective manner.  The website is almost complete with the exception of the

members only section.

The officer’s wish to place the following slate of officers in nomination for the 2004 to 2005 Columbian year.  Grand Knight—Hank Schmalen,  Deputy Grand Knight—John Hall,  Chancellor—Jim Winstead,  Warden—Al Popp,  Treasurer—Don Miller,  Advocate—Mark Nelson,  Recorder—Terry Kreplin,

Inside Guard—Dick Williams,  Outside Guard—Jim Kruger Sr.,  and Trustees,  Rich Hoster,  Fred McCarthy and Steve Francois.  The election will be held at the June 14th meeting.  As always,

nominations may be made from the floor at the June 14th meeting.

We are also in need of several Service Committee heads for the Columbian year beginning in July.

Committee heads are only required to have completed their First Degree.  The various committees include Church,  ProLife,  Health Services,  Public Relations,  Family,  Youth,  Basketball,  First Degree,  Vocations,  Community,  MH,  Rosary,  and Retreat.  Remember the council can only continue to be successful with everyone’s help.  Many of the roles take very little time and are an important part of our organization.

We are still in need of new members.  We will be hosting a degree June 14.  Prior to the degree we will be hosting a membership drive after all masses the weekend of June 12th and 13th.  If anyone knows of any interested prospects please contact myself of your membership chairperson S.K. Fred McCarthy.

Thanks to S.K. Dennis Kwain for attending the State Convention as an official delegate of Siena Council.

The St. Catherine of Siena Irish Festival will be held the weekend of September 10th,  1th,  and 12th.  If you are interested in assisting with the planning of this years events please contact S.K. Hank Schmalen or myself to volunteer your services.  This is one of the council’s most important fund raising events.  As usual its success is largely dependant on your generous support.
