Brother Knights,

“And the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  For today in the city of David a Savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord.  And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.”   Luke 2: 10-12

Brothers, how many times we have heard this Gospel story!!  So many times in fact that I think we lose sight of what it really says……..that our God, the Creator of everything came down in absolute humility and poverty to be an example to us and to redeem us from our sins.  What an awesome thought to meditate on as we go through the season of Advent.  A time to prepare for the 2004th celebration of the birth of Our Lord.

Although this is a busy time of year for all of us, don’t forget about some upcoming events with our brotherhood that could use your support:

                                       School Dance                             Friday Dec. 3rd

                                       Immaculate Conception         Wednesday Dec. 8th

Christmas Party                        Friday Dec. 10th  (please RSVP)

Blood Drive                                Sunday Dec. 12th after all Masses

                                       Regular Meeting                       Monday Dec. 13th

                                       “Knight Before Christmas”

                                           Membership drive

and Vocation Raffle Sale        Sat/Sun  Dec. 18-19th after all Masses

Also, if you have never had the chance to help support the parish “Mall Plus One” program it too is a wonderful opportunity to just “relax” during this hectic time of year!!  The Church is open all of the hours that Spring Hill Mall is open plus one hour…….but it takes someone to just “be there” to make sure everything is safe……..you can spend a half hour or as long as you want…….a GREAT time to visit the Blessed Sacrament and to sit in the narthex and read or write Christmas Cards……the signup sheet is on the bulletin board in the narthex……………you won’t regret giving this time.  You will gain much from its tranquility!!

If you have not had the chance to see our website take a minute to logon……….Brother Ed Pudlo is doing a fantastic job in making this both an informative and interesting site for our use.  I am going to email this month’s newsletter to those that I have email addresses for, it will also be mailed to those who have requested that format and will be posted on the website for all of us to both see and refer to…………….www.kofcsiena.org……let me know your email id if you did not receive this in that format.

Thanks to Rich and Cathy Hoster and to those Brothers and wives that helped out at the Parish Family Breakfast on November 14th……….we were REALLY short of help with a lot of people being out of town, etc…………so please mark your calendars for  FEB 6th  for our next breakfast and plan to lend a hand………more hands make it go easier and faster !!!  Even though we were shorthanded, we managed to pay expenses, give the school a check for $500 and still have a little to put in our coffers……………again, THANKS to all of those that helped us out !!!!

Finally Brothers, it is my wish for you and yours to have a holy Advent season and a very Blessed Christmas.  Don’t get so wrapped up in the commercial holiday that you forget what the season is really all
